No — the extension works on its own, and it's free. Lookups run in your browser and nothing is saved to your deck unless you tap to add it. Signing in is optional: it syncs the cards you capture while watching to Mitsuki Cloud, so they show up on Mac and iPhone too.
No. Mitsuki has its own built-in flashcards and review engine. If you already use Anki, the Mitsuki Extension can capture subtitle lines while you watch — but Anki is entirely optional.
Cards come back on a spaced-repetition schedule that adapts to how well you remember each word. Rate a card Again, Hard, Good, or Easy and Mitsuki spaces the next review to match — more often for the words you find hard, less for the ones you know.
